The Importance Of A Healthy Diet And Exercise

Just hearing the terms "work out" or "exercise" causes many people to cringe. Yet it is a proven fact that exercise is an important concept for a healthy body and diet routine. Dieting alone will help anyone lose weight, but they must include exercise and working out; as part of the regime to maintain the weight loss and healthy body.
Learning to incorporate an exercise program, as easy as walking daily, will increase your weight loss with a healthy diet. Since many people are stationery for most of their day, adding the exercise to their lives will increase the benefits of the diet. Increasing the amount of activity increases the effects of the healthy eating habits.
Eating a healthy diet with a plan rich in protein, good carbohydrates,
grains, Omega-3, and low fat foods is necessary for a serious dieter.
Adding fresh vegetables and fruits to the diet provides the essential nutrients to the body.
Removing the condiments and fried foods from the diet also is a great way to improve the eating habits.
Avoiding sugary and fatty foods in the diet will increase weight loss when including regiments of walking, jogging, swimming, and riding a bicycle. A healthy diet with exercise creates a healthy life style that will provide long-term weight management as well as a healthier body that is resistant to diabetes, heart disease, and other health complications.
Add water to the daily diet. Drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water to keep the body hydrated and flush out the toxins and fat from the body. The body needs water to have healthy lungs, kidneys, liver, hair, nails, bones, and teeth. Water in the diet also helps the person feel full (temporarily) and removes the urges to eat to relieve the feelings of hunger.
Avoid caffeine in coffee, tea, and sodas. The caffeine is not a good chemical for the body. Many feel caffeine energizes them but in reality, it actually causes fatigue when the levels drop thus creating weight gain due to the lack of energy to be active.
The more a person is active the more they will lose weight. They will have more energy, from the higher levels of exercise, which will then cause them to burn the stored fat. Losing the stored fat decreases the weight and provides a better looking body for many people.
Using a healthy diet combined with exercise and workouts can become a standard way of life, leading to a longer life span and a healthier body; that can fight off diseases and even the common cold. The well-maintained body is able to fight off heart disease, obesity, diabetes, cancer and other diseases. People have changed their lives with a healthy diet, a good exercise program; consequentily adding more productive years to their life span.

The Muffin Top Mystery - How Do I Get Rid of This Muffin Top?

If you have ever been on a diet you will be able to relate to this. You are too embarrassed to tell anyone because you have been on so many of them before and none of them have worked. You hate just stepping in front of a mirror, never mind getting dressed in front of one. You are always looking for ways to avoid having lunch with friends, having coffee in a bakery or Valentine's Day. Just when you think you have found the right way to get rid of pounds from around your middle, your motivation starts to lag, you start to loosen up the diet and eventually fall off the wagon. The worst part is that not only do you end up gaining back the weight you lost, but most of the time you end up putting on more weight than you did when you started.
If you can relate to this, here's the good news!
It's actually not a lack of willpower-----it's your brain!
Here is why diet plans usually fail. First, know the facts!
- Over 60% of Americans are overweight or obese
- Over 90% of diet attempts fail
- Eating less calories only equates to starvation, not weight loss
- Diet pills are a myth
- Drinking tons of water is great for you but not a good diet choice
- Lifestyle choices are a huge part of weight loss, but not the only part
- Your brain is the biggest factor in losing extra pounds!
If we program our brains to help us with our diet and weight loss goals, our brain will work to create success for us. So we need to know how to make our brain work for us, not against us! It's just as easy as this...
1) Don't put unrealistic expectations on yourself - Forget those diet plans that tell you that you can lose 50 lbs. in 3 weeks. They just don't work and will set you up for disappointment. Put a more realistic goal on your frig. Something that you know you can achieve. Just take baby steps toward losing weight. That makes the job easier.
2) Having rules you can't follow creates barriers in your brain - Being told what you can and can't eat takes you back to when you were a kid. You're an adult now, so you can make your own choices of what to eat and what not to eat. Get rid of the guilt associated with rules. Just give yourself plenty of encouragement daily. Constant positive affirmations in the morning, during the day and before you go to bed at night, work really well to program the brain in a more forward thinking manner. Begin with "I'm beautiful, inside and out" or "I love myself just the way I am". It will seem silly at first, but will become more powerful the more you remind yourself of your positive mantra. After all, we're programming our minds to give us the results we're looking for.
3) Don't eat any of your favorite foods while on your diet - No one lives like that. Life is suppose to be fun. Limit the sugary foods that you like to one "treat day" per week. Feel free to have whatever you want on that day, but remember that every other day you must stick to choices that don't contain high amounts of fat and sugar. This way you won't feel deprived and will feel more in control.
4) Set a time frame for your weight loss program - Your brain works on a schedule. So let's give it what it wants. Have a start date and an end date. Then stick to the time frame and celebrate your successes along the way. When you give yourself positive reinforcement, that army of supporters inside your head will help you move on to the next success. Remember... baby steps and lots of self encouragement is the way to win this battle of the muffin top.
5) Avoid stepping on the scale at all costs! - Don't bother to even think about stepping on a scale. You'll begin to feel the difference as the weight starts to melt away without having to stare at numbers on a small square box. Clothing will start to feel bigger, your pants will start to droop and feel loose around the middle, physical activities won't be as difficult, those stairs that you climb every day will get easier. The signs will be there. So sidestep the scale.
It's already a known fact!
Our brains hate rules
Our brains hate to be deprived
Our brains hate the feeling of overwhelm
What our brains love!
The flexibility to change whenever we want
Praise for things we've done right
Taking small steps to accomplish big goals
OK. So what's the solution?
Let go of those rules. There are enough rules in our daily lives without having to live with them through what we eat. We all know that overeating causes weight gain, so it's only common sense that we need to stop binge eating or comfort eating. Relax when you head to the frig to pick out what you're going to have for dinner. When your brain is in a relaxed state, you make wiser choices. Here's a fact for you - as the amount of food for comfort decreases, weight gain stops and quick weight loss starts!
Exercise is always a great lifestyle choice. You don't have to be a track star or run marathons to keep the pounds off. Just moving your body daily, walking up and down stairs, or moving furniture to dust is great exercise. The key is to keep moving and doing it every single day!
Take note of what fatty foods you're eating and replace them with healthy choices. I didn't say pack your plate with only veggies (even though that's a great way to get healthy). Just make better choices when it comes to what you put on the end of your fork. Try and avoid "brown foods" and go more for color. Have your one day each week for the treats you love, but stick to your healthy choices the other 6 days of the week. Find new recipes that are quick and satisfying so that you have "go to" food when you are in a hurry.
If you are using diet shakes and bars as meal replacements, use them wisely, not as the only source of food that you eat. That's called starvation. These "magic" sources of nutrition are great for break time, snack time or when you find yourself in a rush and don't have time to make a proper meal. Be mindful of ingredients in these types of products though. Read the labels and don't be fooled by words you can't pronounce. Why would you eat something that you can spell!?
Vitamin supplements can help - There's so much information out there on the pros and cons of vitamins. It's all a personal choice, the best choice is to get proper nutrients from what's on your plate. Unfortunately for us, the soils are so depleted in these nutrients, that the vegetables we're getting at the grocery stores aren't what they use to be. Here again, educate yourself and read the labels. Spending a few minutes learning about vitamins and proper nutrients will give you more power over your body and mind.
Losing the muffin top is easier than you think.

Why You Can't Lose Weight - How To Break The Habits That Hold You Back

Do you wonder why you can get so enthusiastic about weight loss one day, and then completely abandon your goal the next? Are you painfully aware of what your horrible eating habits are doing to your health, yet find it impossible to go one day without diet sabotage?
There is a very real tug-of-war that goes on within each and every one of us. The war rages between your conscious and subconscious mind. Your conscious mind knows all the reasons you MUST change. Your subconscious mind has gotten used to the way things are and resists change.
You can continue to try forcing change, but don't expect a new outcome. The better way is to create change. Let's take a look at how it is done.
Why habits are hard to change:
Habits are a mechanism your brain has created to save brain power. Habits run on autopilot freeing up your brain to deal with other issues.
Consider learning how to drive.
When you first got behind the wheel of a car at the age of 16, you noticed everything about that car. It took a long time to adjust the seat, adjust the mirror, and figure out where the turn signal was. And, your mind was ever vigilant as your eyes constantly moved from the speedometer to the road.
If you had to keep this level of consciousness every time you got behind the wheel of a car, driving would be a maddening and all-consuming activity.
Instead, your brain started putting driving tasks together, and driving became a subconscious activity. How many times have you driven from "Point A" to "Point B" and remembered little about the drive?
Like driving, your eating has become a subconscious habit. So if you try to force yourself to change by turning your life upside down and going cold turkey on all of your old eating habits, your body and mind will feel very uncomfortable... too uncomfortable and you will quit.
How to break old habits and create new ones:
To break the habits of the old you, you need to create change by working with your body and mind at the same time.
To change your body, you need a strategic approach to changing the foods you are eating. Instead of trying to change everything about your diet overnight, ease into change over a 7 day period by methodically replacing junk foods with healthy foods. By doing this you give your body time to adapt, and you avoid overwhelm.
To change your mind, you need to focus on why life will be better when you are eating a healthy diet. What will it be like walking into your church or social function at a spry 125 pounds? How would it feel to try on new clothes at your ideal weight?
Focusing on what is wrong with the current you will keep you locked in your old destructive habits. Focusing on the new you naturally pulls you to new and healthy habits.
Would you like to know how to strategically change the foods you are eating to avoid overwhelm? You can follow the Free 7 Day Plan on my website. This plan has evolved from my work as a professor of health and wellness courses for two universities. It gives you the exact foods to eat to move from a junk food diet to a super foods diet in one week.
Are you interested in changing your mind so you can stop the internal tug-of-war that keeps you locked in your old habits? Learn how to mentally change habits by clicking this link.

Why Is CoolSculpting the Cool Kid on the Weight Loss Scene?

The holidays may be long gone, but many folks are still lugging around those extra pounds that are almost impossible to avoid. If you think ab out it, the weight gain train starts in October with the surplus of Halloween candy. You almost always end up with extra, which means a quick extra few pounds packed on to your body.

As soon as the trick-or-treaters subside, then Thanksgiving plans are underway. If you work in an office, good luck avoiding the ever so popular pot luck. On the day of the turkey feast, there's a good chance you consumed more calories in one sitting that you typically eat in a whole day, maybe two! And it's not like you can just let the leftovers go to waste.
When your house has been rid of the last sliver of pumpkin pie, then everyday seems like a battle with holiday sweets and treats. It's okay to indulge, but sometimes we go a little overboard and end up ringing in the new year with tight fitting clothes and a slim-down resolution.
Depending on how overweight you are, there are a number of different weight loss options and diet plans at your disposal. For medically obese people, bariatric surgery is the way to go because not only is it effective, but it also saves lives.
Following a strict meal plan and exercise routine requires a significant amount of dedication and patience, but results are still obtainable. For those that want to adopt a healthier lifestyle through their food and fitness choices but need a little boost first, CoolSculpting is the secret to losing inches.
Get Cool Now, Look Hot Later
CoolSculpting has gained a lot of attention since it landed on the cosmetic surgery scene. It used to be that liposuction and tummy tucks were the only procedures that could offer visual weight loss results, but that is no longer the case. Here's what you should know about CoolSculpting:
• The procedure is non-invasive, which means no needles and no scalpel.
• Fat cells are targeted, frozen, and eliminated.
• Recovery time is minimal and the duration of the out-patient procedure is only about 1-2 hours.
• The health and appearance of your skin is not damaged.
• Results are visibly noticeable and long-lasting, typically after about 6 weeks.
• Multiple treatments are usually required but it varies.
Basically, CoolSculpting is the hot new way to shed pounds quickly and effectively, without having to go "under the knife". CoolSculpting is not a permanent solution to your trim and toned dream body, but it is definitely a helpful tool to take advantage of.
Putting on extra pounds is a heck of a lot easier than dropping them. In the long run, you need to burn more calories and consume less. If you need a boost to get you motivated, or if you've hit a weight loss plateau, then CoolSculpting is your secret weapon to losing inches. This new and trendy non-invasive procedure is quick and convenient, so all you have to do is find a medical or spa facility that offers it.

That Cream Cake Might Kill You After All

I've spent a lot of time over the years working with smokers and helping them to break their habit. You might expect that fear of lung cancer is what drives smokers to seek help to quit, but that isn't always the case. In fact concerns about ill-health only drive smokers who are already experiencing health problems to quit. The majority don't like the anti-social aspects of being a smoker or the smells.
Part of the problem is that people only seek to take action to maintain good health when their health is already beginning to fail. While individuals have no adverse symptoms there is nothing to drive the motivation for change. This is why the graphic anti-smoking advertising campaigns have little effect on smoking numbers.
Because of this belief in immortality and permanent good health, individuals tend to continue to do what they do. So if you live a healthy lifestyle with lots of nourishing food and exercise then you will continue. But if you live an unhealthy lifestyle with an unhealthy diet then you will also continue. The reason for this is that although, when we worry, we worry about the past and the future. When we eat or exercise we do it now. So unless you have developed the habit of exercise in the same way that smokers develop the habit of smoking, you will choose to eat rather than to walk, run, jog, or cycle.
That is why change is so difficult for most of us. We did what we did yesterday and nothing bad happened so we can probably do it again today and nothing bad will happen - and that's good - right?
When the bad is small, we do not notice it. But when the small bad happens every day, then one morning we wake up and we've got a big bad that seems to have appeared out of nowhere.
I was reading today about how obesity is now being linked to several cancers:
Breast - 33,000 cases a year caused by obesity.
Endometrial - 13,900 cases.
Kidney - 13,900.
Colorectal - 13,200.
Pancreas - 11,900
Oesophagus - 5,800.
Gallbladder - 2,000.
These are US figures for incidence of cancers directly related to obesity.
With breast cancer the problem is increased oestrogen in the bloodstream after the menopause. The oestrogen levels are directly linked to excess fat. The slimmer you are the less oestrogen you produce and the less likely you are to have to suffer the radical treatment offered for breast cancer.
"To lower your risk for cancer: Lose weight, increase physical activity and eat healthier", says Anne McTiernan, director of the Prevention Center at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle.
The trouble is we worry about things that we think are definitely going to happen, like an interview next week, or a dental appointment next month; and we worry about things that we convince ourselves will happen, even though they don't - like the plane crashing, or that person we like rejecting us. What we don't worry about are the things our body might experience until it is.
The problem is motivation. We do anything - even eating less and exercising more - if we are sufficiently motivated. But when we are physically comfortable in our armchair watching mind-numbing dross on TV and enjoying our snacks the world seems a cosy place where nothing bad will happen if we stay just where we are. It's not true, but we believe the illusion we have created and continue to do nothing to love and cherish our bodies by moving them and using them and caring about what we put inside them.
It's up to you.

10 Weight Loss Tips From Experts

Don't worry all the time about the quantity of food in take. If at some meals you eat more carbohydrates cut back on it during the other meals of day. Aim for balance in your diet. If you had pasta for lunch cut back on the bread at dinner.

Have fruits ready to eat in your fridge, on the table and close at hand when working at your computer. When bored or hungry we tend to reach for something to eat. The first thing that you should find is fruit. This will stop your craving for chocolate or cake.
A top celeb says she carries protein powder in a shaker where ever she goes. When she feels really hungry she just adds some water to the shaker and drink the protein drink. This not only helps curb the hunger pangs but also reduces the craving for unhealthy foods.
Carry a smaller sized box (4 inch square) with you when ordering food from the cafeteria. Put in whatever you want in the box and it is impossible to overeat as the box restricts the amount of food you can eat.
Another trick is to brush your teeth after dinner. This prevents you from snacking on any goodies in the fridge after meal is done.
Take before and after pictures of yourself before starting on the weight loss bandwagon. If you tend to lose interest in the weight loss goal a glance at the before pictures will be enough to get you back on track. After all you don't want to look like that again.
Avoid all drinks containing calories. Sodas, juices and alcohols don't do anything to curb your hunger. They in fact make you more hungry because of the sugar in these drinks.
Bring out your tight clothes when you know you have the tendency to eat creamy desserts or fries. The tight jeans will make you think twice before indulging in a sweet treat or fries.
Want a simple treat? Fill a pitcher with cold water and add some pieces of cucumber, mint leaves and spices like cumin seeds to it. Sip the cool treat and it contains zero calories.
Serve yourself the amount that you need to eat. Pack the rest in containers to be heated and eaten later. There is no craving for seconds or the need to reach for food just because it is there.
Instead of reaching for a sandwich when hungry pick up a box of strawberries. They are delicious and filling too.

Cellulite Reduction Diet

Want to hear some unpleasant sounding names for the condition known as cellulite? How does "orange peel skin" or "cottage cheese thighs" sound to you? Not very nice I'm sure you'll agree.
As horrible as it is, the condition is unfortunately extremely common, and difficult to prevent, and remove. If you suffer from cellulite, or have somebody close to you that does, then don't give up hope just yet, because your about to learn the best cellulite reduction diet tips which can and will help you!
We'll be looking at several effective cellulite reduction diet related ways that you can use to rid your body of cellulite, for good! Let's take a look.
Drink plenty of water - As cellulite is a condition which affects the skin, staying hydrated is vital if you want to reduce the evidence of the dreaded cellulite ever affecting you. Cellulite is caused by fatty deposits and cells becoming saturated with fat beneath the skin. Staying well hydrated helps to hide this effect, by plumping up your skin, and making it appear firmer and fuller.
Eat plenty of fruit - Cellulite is caused by fatty deposits, so obviously, eating more fat is only going to exasperate the problem. Instead, opt for low fat, vitamin, mineral, and antioxidant rich foods such as fresh fruit. Papaya and bananas in particular, are being hailed as some of the most effective foods to combat cellulite, due to their naturally high Potassium content. Potassium has been shown to reduce water retention in the body, which is thought to reduce the appearance of cellulite.
Vitamin C should be a key component of every cellulite reduction diet. Foods rich in vitamin C and other antioxidants are also great as the help to keep the body, skin, and vital organs in top condition. There is also evidence to suggest that vitamin C may boost natural collagen levels in the body. Collagen is what keeps our skin looking firm, full, and subtle. Skin with low levels of collagen, is more likely to enhance the appearance of cellulite.
Get more protein in your diet - Protein is essential for the growth and repair of muscle tissue. People with increased levels of lean muscle, are much less likely to show the effects of suffering from cellulite. Building lean muscle and toning your bodies is a great way of firming up your skin, and reducing the effects of cellulite. Skin-less chicken, lean cuts of meat, nuts, seeds, and plenty of seafood and fish are all great sources of protein, which also happen to be low in saturated fat.
Incorporate meal replacement supplements into your diet - As you know, cellulite is caused by fatty build ups and deposits under the skin. Because of this, you obviously need to reduce the amount of fat that you consume, get plenty of vital vitamins and nutrients, and lose weight in the process.
The above suggestions are great ways of reducing cellulite, but unfortunately, cannot get rid of it completely. Instead, you need meal replacement supplements, designed to help you lose weight, and feel great in the process.
If you're looking for the most healthy and effective way to kick start your cellulite reduction diet, weight loss meal replacement supplements are a cost effective way to begin your diet, all of which have been proven to help you lose weight, and rid your bodies of cellulite for good!

How To Lose Fat and Build Muscles Simultaneously

To be able to lose fat and gain muscles at the same time, three things are necessary; diet, strength training and cardiovascular exercise.
I believe that anyone can lose weight and build muscles with determination and willpower. By putting your mind into it and being consistent you will get the results you want.
Diet is essential
Regulate carbohydrates intake
Limiting your carbohydrates intake will help you lose weight. Do not get me wrong though, we need carbohydrates to fuel energy to our bodies during workouts and help the body absorb proteins. Here are some healthy carbohydrates that should be in your diet.
Oatmeal - eating this will lower chances of diabetes and high blood pressure. Oatmeal contains a lot of fiber which will boost your metabolism and keep you full for long.
Whole grains- these are a good source of carbohydrates. Just like oatmeal, they reduce chances of high blood pressure and diabetes. Limit the consumption of these carbohydrates to one in every meal. Remember to consume enough calories as well.
Eat more proteins
Proteins are important especially in building muscles. They also help boost your metabolism as the body uses more energy to digest proteins than it uses with carbohydrates and fats. As you engage in strength training your muscles get micro tears, proteins help repair these tears after workout. Here are some good proteins; lean beef, chicken, fish, beans and eggs.
Say NO to processed foods
Processed foods have many additives, are low in nutrients and have had a great deal of their vitamins, minerals and fiber stripped away. Not to add the unhealthy fats, artificial sweeteners and synthetic minerals. Some of the processed food you should avoid include: frozen pizza, hot dogs, packaged chips and cookies, lunch meats or any others you may think of.
Remember to consult a nutritionist before you start a new diet.
Cardiovascular exercises
This is important because the exercises raise your heart rate and make the heart stronger. A strong heart will pump oxygen to all parts of the body which will help in burning fat and building muscles.
For cardiovascular exercises to be effective, regularly training is necessary.Exercise at least 4 times a week with 30 minutes exercises every session.
Here are some effective cardiovascular exercises that you should do; running, riding, swimming, rope jumping, dancing and walking. Staying consistent is the key here, avoid taking long breaks.
Strength training

7 Fast Weight Loss Tips - Lose 10 Pounds In A Week

Wouldn't it be great if you could eat as much as you like and still lose weight?
You can actually do that when you know which foods to eat to lose weight fast. Just keep in mind that you want to maintain good nutrition while you lose weight. Although there are many diet aids in the market, your best bet to stay healthy while you lose weight is to eat fresh, nutritious foods.
Reduce or Eliminate Salt
During the first week of dieting you can lose as much as 8 - 10 pounds, depending on how much excess weight you carry around. This initial weight loss will come mostly from excess water in your system, which will disappear if you reduce or eliminate most salt from your meals. In subsequent weeks you should see a weight reduction of 1-2 pounds per week, by following a moderate diet.
Eat Raw Fruits and Vegetables
Even if you are not a vegetarian, you can lose weight fast by eating as much raw vegetables as you like so you're comfortably full after your meals. Additionally, you can eat a moderate amount of lean meat and fish for your protein. You can eat raw fruit for dessert.
Avoid Soft Drinks
If you can, avoid soft drinks altogether, and drink as much water as you enjoy. Switching to water may seem unpleasant for a few days, but if you drink pure, filtered water you will soon begin to enjoy it. You will be pleasantly surprised by how quickly and steadily your excess body fat melts away.
If you have a considerable amount of weight to lose, you would be well advised to consult with your doctor. Be sure to avoid any extreme diets. You may be tempted to try a fast weight loss diet. If you do it, do so only for a short time to kick-start your weight loss.
Moderation in Your Dieting
To stay healthy and to be able to maintain your weight loss over time, you should aim for a moderate but steady weight loss. There are so many good, nutritious foods available that you don't need to resort to fast weight loss fads. They are not healthy anyway.
Select your food carefully and you will slim down while maintaining good nutrition. Losing a lot of weight, burning a lot of body fat isn't just about dieting. You can lose weight quickly through extreme diets, but in such cases you will most likely gain all the weight back again.
Lifestyle Change
What you should aim for is a change in lifestyle, even if it only involves eliminating foods which have excessive fats, and excessive sugar.
Losing weight doesn't have to be hard. Once you make up your mind to it, you can gradually modify your eating habits, like including plenty of raw vegetables in your diet. Salads can be very tasty once you learn what you like best. Then you will naturally include them with your main meals. The same is true of fruits.
You can pretty much eat all the raw vegetables and raw fruit you like and still lose weight. Raw fruit and vegetables make excellent snacks between your main meals.
Discover Healthy Foods You Like
A great dieting secret is to only eat foods you like. Start experimenting, learn which natural weight loss foods you like best and add them to your weight management arsenal.
Another great tip is to avoid adding extra fat in your food preparation. Opt for baking instead of deep-frying. You will see great results over time.
Make up your mind to gradually change your eating habits. Learn to enjoy healthy, low-fat nutritious food. When you do this, you will be able to maintain your new weight level without any special effort. And you will be much healthier in the balance.
While there are many weight loss aids you can buy, your best bet for longterm results will be your new, smarter eating habits. To achieve longterm weight management, you need to educate yourself about the basics of good nutrition, so you can be in control of your longterm weight, and your longterm health.
Exercise
You don't need to go into long, arduous exercise routines to lose weight. But you will see results much faster if you include moderate exercise in your new, healthy lifestyle.

Losing Weight and Not Yourself

Many people today are looking at finding ways to lose weight. Some of them want to do it because they want to keep in top shape and shed the few extra kilos they have while others want to do it because they are overweight and that is impacting their health and their social and personal lives. Obesity is a medical state where the accumulation of fat in the body is to such an extent that it may adversely start impacting a person's health.
Obesity is caused when a person has excessive intake of food energy that is combined with decreased or minimal physical activity that could have helped to burn out all that energy, erratic eating habits that impact the efficiency of the metabolic system and also predisposition to gaining weight. Many people gain a lot of weight because they eat at odd hours, eat junk or fried food all the time, or do not exercise at all while some people gain weight because it is in their genes and they need to be really careful about eating anything that could make them put on the unnecessary weight.
Obesity can cause various problems for a person; they could suffer from heart problems, face decreased life expectancy, breathing problems, health issues, cancer, osteoarthritis, and even type 2 diabetes. Many people who have a lot of fat accumulation suffer from decreased activity as it is easy for them to tire post very simple and basic activities. This happens because the body weight is too much for the bones to handle and they start to hurt after some time creating the need to rest.
Obesity also causes issues with self-esteem as people who believe that they are on the heavier side or are not as attractive as the people who are thinner, tend to lose all confidence in themselves and hence tend to create a wall around themselves, shutting everyone out and falling into depression or suffering from low confidence. This impacts their quality of life because they judge themselves by their own perceptions rather than being unbiased about it and focusing on being healthy.
Many people who want to lose weight try a lot of things to get good results and to get rid of the excessive fat as soon as possible and there are many ways to lose fat from just exercising to taking the help of surgical procedures and people choose the ones that suit them the most. While all of these methods may work in helping generic weight loss, there are a few ways that are really very effective. Let's look at some of the ways currently adopted to lose weight:
Eat Less: This is believed to be one of the best ways to lose weight and people who are trying to get rid of some weight start to eat smaller portions of food and eliminate certain elements like carbohydrates, fat, starch, and so on. What people don't realize is that this method of reducing weight can actually be quite detrimental. When we cut down on certain elements from our food we end up robbing our body of some essential nutrients and that keep it healthy. Eventually our body begins to show the signs of not being fed all the right nutrients and we think that we are losing weight due to the rightness of our diet plan. Some people give up on milk, some on fish, some give up sugar, some on other such items and these provide us with essential nutrients. Some elements may not be essential all by themselves however they help in the synthesis of many other nutrients not eating them also can cause deficiencies.
Skip Meals: Though skipping meals may sound like the logical way to lose calories because you can't accumulate calories if you don't ingest them... right? Wrong... before we discuss this think about this: when you haven't eaten for a while do you tend to eat more than you usually do? The answer is yes and the same thing happens to us when we skip meals. We may not eat our breakfast and pat our back on skipping those calories but the truth of the matter is that the next meal we have... is a bigger portion than our regular meal at that hour and that is not too healthy for the body because you end up eating after longer periods of time which can stress the metabolism and will also make you eat more.
Go on a Liquid Diet: Liquid diet seems like a great idea; juices, teas, sodas, coffee, etc... all of them seem quite harmless and a lot of people think that they won't add any calories to us. In reality the situations is completely different. Without knowing, we tend to consume a lot of calories through these drinks and it is difficult later to understand why we aren't losing our weight the way we are supposed to.
Diet Pills: Many people may not know about this but diet pills are the latest preferred solution to lose weight. These pills are already helping people from all over the world to lose the unwanted weight so that they can live healthier and happier lives. Diet pills help with generic weight loss in the most effective manner and the best part is that they work in a very short span of time and give the best results.
These pills make it possible for people to not just lose their weight but also to tone it us and get a better shape in little time. Diet pills are also a great option when compared to the extensive and painful workouts that people do for hours in the gym. Apart from the pain in the body, the relentless workouts that take up most of the energy we have, people today don't really have the time to visit a gym and end up just worrying about their weight which adds to the stress.
These diet pills are also a good idea for those who have tried everything from starving themselves to working out for hours at end and not had much progress with any of the options. They take the least amount of time in helping a person lose weight, the do not need a lot of time spent at your end, they do not need you to stay hungry or give up on any food group that may be essential for your body.
These pills are also a great option for those who may not be able to spend the huge amount gym memberships and want to find a more affordable way to lose weight because they are not very highly priced. The one thing people need to be careful about is that they should try to get diet pills that are made with natural ingredients so that they are safe.
These pills don't just reduce the calorie intake; they also make sure that the metabolism of the body increases to burn more calories. They also help with keeping the person healthy and let them lose their overall weight without adding additional activities to their already busy lives. Some careful research and consultation to find the right diet pills will help a lot in achieving the goal to lose your weight.

Can Chocolate Help You With Fat Loss?

Chocolate often gets a bad rap for being a diet disaster. Most people often associate chocolate with thoughts of sin, decadence and indulgence. However, a growing number of research is finding that chocolate is full of photochemicals that have been proven to prevent and cure disease. So how can chocolate help you be more fit? Below are 4 reasons on how chocolate can benefit you.
1. Fat Loss
A team of researchers from the University of San Diego conducted a research and they found out that those people who eat chocolate more frequently were thinner than those who ate less as measure by their body mass index. The team of researchers asked 100 men and women how much chocolate they consumed in a week and they came to find that those who ate chocolate 5 times a week recorded a drop in body mass index. Obviously, there's some room for interpretation here... but stay with me.
They also found out that cacao (which is the actual chocolate) component can reduce the efficiency of carbohydrate and fat digestive enzymes which can benefit your overall body weight management. Basically, help keep fat from being stored.
2. Controls hunger cravings
Research shows that cacao can actually help you control your hunger cravings. Cocoa butter contained in chocolate is not only good for your heart, but can also trigger the satiety hormones which turn off hunger. That means that you will not be hungry between meals.
3. Good for your heart.
It appears that eating cacao (remember, that's the actual chocolate part) can actually reduce the risk of heart attacks, heart disease and heart failure.
Dark chocolates helps to improve the flow of blood thus helping to prevent blood clots from forming. Eating chocolate can also help to prevent hardening of the arteries (arteriosclerosis). Studies have also found out that cacao can perform double duty. I.e. can reduce your bad cholesterol and increase your good cholesterol simultaneously.
4. Good for your brain
Consuming dark chocolate can help increase the flow of blood to the brain a well as to the heart. This can help improve cognitive functions such as problem solving. Studies also show that cacao contain several beneficial chemical compounds that have positive effects on both your cognitive health and your mood. Chocolates contain phenyl ethylamine, the same chemical your brain usually creates when you feel like you are actually falling in love.
Phenyl ethylamine a chemical found in chocolates can encourage your brain to release endorphins which will make you feel happier. Not to mention an increase in serotonin. It does this by theobromine (found in cacao). Which is a pre-cursor for the neurotransmitter itself. In essence it would be like a mild way to naturally fight sadness and depression.
It can also help to bolster your memory, feel more alert and also help you pay better attention.
Bottom line:
There is no doubt that chocolate and weight loss/fitness can coexist. But it is very important to note that health benefits of chocolates come from cacao part not from the additives that people use to make it sweater and creamier. So think in terms of cacao not normal chocolate. When selecting chocolates, make sure you read on the labels. Look for darker, lower sugar and fat chocolates. Also, choose chocolates that clearly show out the percentage of cocoa. The recommended chocolates are those with at least 70% cacao which is dark but still sweet enough to be appetizing. The higher the cacao percentage the better. I have found that 80% taste fine, but 90% gets a little bitter.

Avoid Commonly Made Mistakes In Portion Sizes

You might be making these mistakes in portion sizes when maintaining a food diary. It is important to read the food labels before assuming that a certain amount makes one serving or has so many calories. Take for instance cereal, do you ever measure the amount of cereal you consume? For some cereals it is one cup for others it is 3/4 cup. Most people simply tip the cereal box and pour the cereal into their bowls never measuring. Some folks go for seconds. So, you might be actually eating 3-4 servings of cereal instead of the daily recommended one serving.
Lean chicken with out skin or fat is a healthy choice. But what is the serving size that is optimum for an adult? It is 3-4 ounces. It is about the size of deck of cards. Depending on your choice of vendor the size of chicken varies dramatically. Some pre-packed chicken breast size are 2-3 recommended size. So, make sure that you are following guidelines set by FDA. Yes, lean protein is good for you. But, unless you are following a bodybuilders diet or that of an athlete you don't large amounts of this healthy protein. Follow the dietary recommendation for an adult of your size and weight and you do fine.
Hamburgers served at restatements are huge. You can not count this as one serving of hamburger. The recommended size of beef is 3 ounces. The quarter-pound is slightly more at 4 ounces. But some of the burgers served are much bigger in size and probably contain half a pound of meat in them. So you cannot say that you had one serving of beef. It would probably 2-3 servings. So keep a close watch on portion size if you are keen on keeping track of your diet.
Coffee creamers are some of biggest culprits when it comes fat consumption. Even the fat-free versions are not free of calories. If you are consuming 3-4 mugs of coffee a day, you will easily be exceeding the daily recommended fat intake since no one actually pulls out a tablespoon while measuring the cream. The recommended dose is one tablespoon of cream. If you consume 4 mugs of latte you are actually consuming 4 table spoons or more of the offending cream. That is if you religiously measure the cream. If not you are probably consuming much more and not even noticing it.
The above are not only common foods that we make mistakes with. Bread, fruits, salad dressings and rice servings are also generally not known and we tend to overeat them.

Eating a healthy diet with a plan rich in protein, good carbohydrates, grains, Omega-3, and low fat foods is necessary for a serious dieter.

Avoid Commonly made mistakes in portion sizes

You might be making these mistakes in portion sizes when maintaining a food diary.

5 Tips for Weight Loss

There are no magic pills, it's about smart choices. No one is perfect. Simply move in the direction to get better each day.
Think of your diet as a lifestyle for longevity. Eat a wide variety of natural whole foods based on what you just did and what you're about to do.
Enjoy what you love without the guilt, but eat healthy most of the time.
Have earned meals, not cheat meals. When you eat the correct foods most of the time you earn the ability to eat whatever you want. How often depends on your individual goals. Cheating brings up a negative image. Don't be negative about something you've earned.
Don't stress. Stressing out over your diet is counterproductive because stress is directly linked to weight gain.
5 Tips for Rapid Weight Loss
1- Drink Water. Ditch any liquid high in calories but drink lots of fluids, mostly water.
A lack of water affects your kidneys and liver. This hinders fat burning. When dehydrated, your body also holds on to the little water it has, causing you to feel bloated.
Drinking enough water brings everything back to equilibrium. Water can also enhance metabolism. Your body works more efficiently when hydrated which speeds up weight loss.
2- Cut back on Salt. Salt isn't bad, but too much of it can cause problems.
Salt does not cause your body to gain or lose fat. But, high consumptions of salt cause your body to retain water. Reducing the salt in your diet causes your body to shed water weight. Some salt is necessary for health so don't cut it out completely.
Diets high in salt are also associated with weight gain. This is because high levels of salt are commonly found in unhealthy calorie dense processed foods.
3- Dump Highly Processed Foods. Highly processed foods often lack essential nutrients and are high in bad fats, sugar, and artificial chemicals.
Your body processes whole foods very differently than it does highly processed foods. Some highly processed foods overstimulate the pleasure neurotransmitter, dopamine, which can lead to cravings.
Processed foods also cause a temptation to eat in excess which can lead to other health problems. Stick with natural whole foods.
4- Double Dark Leafy Greens. Leafy greens are nutritious and come in a wide variety.
Vegetables like kale, spinach, collard greens, cabbage, broccoli and others are some of the most nutrient dense foods on a calorie per calorie basis.
They are rich in fiber that keeps you feeling full. Fiber can also lower cholesterol, blood pressure, and moderate blood-sugar swings by slowing the absorption of carbohydrates after meals. Leafy greens also contain a lot of water, which helps to keep you hydrated.
5- Prioritize Sleep. Skipping sleep packs on the pounds.
It can also hinder the effectiveness of your diet. People who get less sleep are more likely to be overweight or obese.
Don't be temped by junk foods. Research from Harvard shows that missing a few hours of sleep may also make you more susceptible to junk foods. The prefrontal cortex is highly sensitive to a lack of sleep and it is the part of the brain responsible for self-control.

Simplified weight Loss Facts

It can be extremely overwhelming trying to learn about weight loss. No matter which way you turn, someone is telling you about a "miracle pill", a new machine, some sort of gimmick that guarantees quick weight loss with little to work on your part, other than paying them. There is literally thousands of diet plans that claim they are the best. None of that is necessary.
Weight loss isn't as complicated as the health and fitness industry wants you to believe. Here is the simplest way that I can explain how it really works.
Calories = Energy
Fat = Stored Energy
So, if you want to lose energy, you simply need to burn more energy than you take in.
There are 3 healthy options for doing this.
1 - Take in less calories (energy). Your body needs a certain amount of energy to function throughout the day. If it is not getting enough from the food that you are taking it, it takes it from your energy storage, which is fat. A lot of people decide to take this too far and starve themselves, That is an extremely unhealthy decision. Your body needs certain nutrients to function properly, and you need to eat to get them. You may lose weight if you stop eating, but you will do more harm than good form your body.
2 - Use more energy. The more physical activity that you do (exercise), the more your body will need to tap into your stored energy. People always want to know what the best exercise that they can do it. My answer is simple. The best exercise for you is the one that you will do! If science proved that running was the best exercise, but you refuse to run, running isn't the best exercise for you.
3 - Combine exercise and proper nutrition. This is the most efficient way to lose weight. By reducing the amount of energy that you take in, along with burning more of your stored energy by exercising, you will get maximum results. Also, this combination is the most efficient way to improve you health. The exercise will not only help you lose weight, but it improves your heart and lung health. Eating healthy will give your body the nutrients it needs to function properly, along with reducing the amount of energy that your body stores. Too many people look for a magic pill that will help them lose weight. Weight loss pills do one of two things. They either flush out your body's water weight, which is extremely unhealthy, or they increase your heart rate to speed up your metabolism, which is also unhealthy.

Stop making These mistakes for Quicky Weight losing

Stop making the following mistakes for healthy weight loss.
Stop under estimating the amount of food you consume every day. Every last bit counts. So if you tasted pasta sauce while making it, note it down. If you ate a few pieces from your partner's plate at dinner, that counts too. If you nibbled on small biscuit or a big cake that counts too. So, note down in a journal every bit of food that you ate through the day and you will realize your daily calorie intake is in far excess of what you thought. Keep a close watch on the calories you consumed to get an accurate estimate of your food intake.
Stop overestimating your activities. Folks tend to exaggerate the amount of activity they do. For instance just going to the gym and hanging out with friends does not count as exercise. If you were on the treadmill for 10 minutes and spent the next 15 watching your friend apply makeup to her eyes. It means you spent 10 minutes of your total gym time exercising not 25 minutes. If you walk for 5 minutes to the salon and spent 20 minutes in the chair getting pampered and walked back. Then you spent 10 minutes walking not 40 minutes. Keep an accurate account of your activity schedule to know the calories burned.
Don't get carried away by diets and fitness plans that celebs and friends rave about. It might have worked for them. But chances are the same program may not be suited for you. Every one is different in their activities, diet habits, discipline and genetic structure. Some people gain and lose weight easily. Others find it much more difficult. It is better to choose a program that suits your lifestyle rather than that of a celeb or a friend. It is easy to fall for some seductive weight loss programs and after investing time and energy find that is simply not working for you.
Consuming healthy foods doesn't cause weight loss. Consuming just the right amount and not overindulging helps you by not accumulating any more weight. Read the food labels and eat just the amount of calories that you need. You think that if it is healthy it doesn't matter how much you consume. Well it matters. Eat the right amounts of the right kind of food and exercise the right amount of time to see a major change in your body shape and size.

8 Ways to Loss Weight Easily

Weight is an issue for more people today than it ever was. More people have quick access to foods that are cheap, easy to get, and full of fat and other harmful ingredients. As a result, more people weigh more now than ever before. It can be hard to make a change to lose weight and become healthier. There are a few things that people can do every day to lose weight more easily to keep them motivated to doing more.
Start moving more every day. Just a half an hour every day for a week is going to get the body prepared to start moving more. Increase this amount of time every week for a month. You will start seeing the results of your extra movements when you realize that you can do it a little easier each time. Your muscles will start to tone and you will use up more of your caloric intake.
Choose healthier eating options. Instead of a handful of chips, choose a handful of carrots. Replace a soft drink with a glass of water a day. Eat fresh fruit instead of a couple of cookies. Changing things here and there is a lot easier than changing everything at once. You can still stay have a treat now and then. You just need to limit your portions and how often you allow yourself to indulge.
Set small goals for yourself instead of unrealistic ones. If you think you are going to lose a significant amount of weight in just a short amount of time, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. That disappointment will make you give up your dreams of weighing less. Instead of making unrealistic goals, make short and attainable ones.
Join a support group or try to lose weight with a friend. Studies have shown that trying to lose weight with someone else helps a person to lose weight faster. If you try to lose weight with someone else, you can encourage each other to keep going when you do not feel like sticking to your goals.
Keep a journal of your eating and exercising habits. This allows you to see exactly what you have been doing and how hard you have worked to get as far as you have. You can always refer back to the journal to see how far you have come. You do not want to give all of that effort up with a huge meal or snack splurge. Looking at your journal when you have a craving can be a deterrent for making mistakes.
If you lose sight of your goal one day, get back on track after you have made a mistake.Even if you do make a mistake, it is not the end of your attempt to lose weight. You can still get back on track that very same day to ensure that your diet doesn't go down the drain. Everyone makes a mistake once in a while, but that does not give them license to give up altogether.
Tell important people about your attempt to lose weight. Telling people who mean something to you puts you personally accountable for your weight loss efforts. You don't want to disappoint anyone if you stop trying to lose weight, so you will be less likely to quit so easily.
Remember that you will not likely lose a lot of weight right away. Do not give up your efforts to lose weight just because success didn't happen overnight. Do not try and deceive yourself: losing weight takes a lot of hard work and dedication. Stick with it and you will see results eventually.
